The Existing system

Topwok Original are a successful Bournemouth-based Chinese Takeaway franchise. They operate throughout the Bournemouth and Poole area and also have a branch in Ferndown. For many years, like alot of the takeaway industry, Topwok Original did not realise how the web could work for them but they recognised they should have a presence at the very least and were willing to explore the ways the internet could help their business model.

They did have an online ordering system however this had problems and the ordering interface was through a third party and not consistent with their brand. It also relied heavily on a human element in that all orders received online had to be manually faxed to the individual store and this introduced many errors (and frustrations) to the ordering process both for employees and users of their online ordering system.

We felt that firstly the original website did not do much justice to Topwok Originals desire to be the best. Their site lacked professionalism and most users would likely have ordered from the store in person before trusting the site itself to order from. Whilst not the most important consideration, aesthetically it lacked presence, professionalism and brand and these were the three elements we wanted to bring to the design.

We started by redesigning the site with the following features:

• Integrated ordering system - Now the user experience was seamless and uninterupted.

• Secured store interface - Now users could order from Topwok with confidence, knowing their valuable data was encrypted.

• Custom store alert software installed on premises - Employess at each store were alerted in real time to incoming orders from the website.

• Promotional features - The store can now offer a host of promotional discounts and free items based on order quantity/repeat orders etc

• Expanded scope - The site now features a catalogue area for the franchises' offsite catering services which was sorely lacking from the site before CreativeWRX were involved.

Search Engine Optimisation

We spent alot of time optimising the Topwok Original site so it would rank highly for phrases that would bring alot of new and untapped custom to the Topwok site. This involved many weeks of tweaking the site itself and many more weeks of intense link-building and directory submission.

Topwok Original can be found for a variety of competitive local phrases in Google and Yahoo including searches such as:

Visitor Statistics

Averaging nearly 1500 unique vistors a month and a customer database of well over a 1000 users, topwok original are now in prime position to make the most of their excellent local exposure online.

The net effect

Topwok Original now have a professional face to present to would-be users of their online ordering service. They can be found organically in Google search results - consistently outranking their competitors which has helped increase the overall profitability of the company. Outside Catering enquiries can also be dealt with swiftly as all enquiries are immediately dealt with via a webform interface.
